Every TFImex order travels in a standard shipping container or, for cars, on a car carrier. Knowing the two common sizes helps you plan quantities and costs from the start.
Standard sizes
The outside dimensions of ISO containers are fixed by the ISO 668 standard, so every port and ship can handle them.
| Container | Length | Width | Height |

| 20 ft | 6.058 m | 2.438 m | 2.591 m |
| 40 ft | 12.192 m | 2.438 m | 2.591 m |
| 40 ft high cube | 12.192 m | 2.438 m | 2.896 m |

Which container for which goods
- Mangrove seedlings: ventilated or refrigerated containers keep the plants alive on longer routes.
- Electric cars: one or more cars in a 20 ft or 40 ft container, or a car carrier for larger numbers.
- Sheet-metal machines: standard containers, or open-top and flat-rack containers for oversize parts.
Documents that travel with the goods
Every shipment needs a commercial invoice, a packing list and a bill of lading, and often a certificate of origin. Some goods add their own papers: a phytosanitary certificate for plants, or a dangerous-goods declaration for battery-powered vehicles. Delivery terms such as FOB, CIF or DAP are agreed with each order.
